My little Betsy

Piper did an amazing job researching, writing about, and portraying Betsy Ross for her 2nd grade Wax Museum.

The making of the costume was much more involved than I had thought it would be. Turns out that my girlie is a combination of sizes and the dress pattern required a bit of modification to properly fit her. It was a bit beyond my previous sewing experiences, but I think I did a pretty good job. I had to alter the top and add in a piece, the style was cut way too low for her.

The other costumes were awesome. I thought I, perhaps, was going overboard to sew a dress, but no! Some of the costumes were amazing! I'm so glad that my girlie had something she felt so beautiful and confident in to wear. Hundreds of parents and most of the kids in the school toured the museum and pushed her "button" to hear her speech read. So proud of all her hard work!

  1. You are such a good mommy!! :) I love that you went the extra mile to make your precious daughter feel so special and beautiful. GREAT job, too... I knew exactly who she was supposed to be the moment I seen the photo!

I'm so out of touch with everyone right now, as our computer is completely shut down with major virus infections that broke through our anti-viral software. It's SO frustrating. Thankfully my hubby was able to recover some very important things and photos that I still had on there, and we are burning them to cd's now, before he has to wipe the entire computer clean and reload everything from scratch. It may be a couple of weeks before we're up and running again. In the meantime, I'm taking advantage of hubby's work laptop before he flies out for work again next week.

So fun to see you on here again. I do think of you often, and you (and your 'journey') remain in my thoughts and prayers! <><

    Sending BIG hugs your way!

    OOXX,
    Tanya
